Mangalayatan University, Uttar Pradesh Act" established the university and granted it the authority to issue degrees in accordance with section (2f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act.
The Uttar Pradesh government announced the establishment of the university as Act No. 32 of 2006 through its October 30, 2006, Gazette No. 362/VII-V-1-1(Ka)-12/2006.

The highly esteemed National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) gave Mangalayatan University a Grade A+ in the first recognition cycle in recognition of its outstanding performance in teaching, research, and extension. On a 4-point scale, the University's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) proved 3.34.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) counts Mangalayatan University as one of its affiliates. The University Grant Commission (UGC Entitled) recognizes degrees, diplomas, and other professional degrees offered by the University based on affiliation in AIU.
It is the highest governing body for technical education in India. Mangalayatan University in Aligarh has been granted permission to offer the MBA and MCA programs via distance learning and online delivery.
